MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

     •  Sponsored by a current member

     •  Must be accomplished and effective in his field

     •  Has demonstrated leadership and/or talent

     •  Demonstrated community participation

     •  Willingness to annually give financially  

     •  Willingness to give time

     •  At least 25 years of age (formerly 30)

     •  Of good character

THE MEMBERSHIP PROCESS

     1. an invitation by a current member

     2. completion of membership application ($100 Application Fee)

     3. an interview by members of the membership committee 

         ($500 dues payable at interview)

     4. a formal vote of acceptance by the membership at a regularly scheduled  

         membership meeting

MEMBERSHIP EXPECTATIONS

Members of the 100 Black Men of Los Angeles, Inc. (100BM/LA), are ambassadors for this fine organization and responsible for the growth and prosperity of the organization.

 

Members, hereby, agree to  commit to and abide by the following standards of performance in furthering the image of The 100 and enhancing its goals and objectives:

  • Attend at least 70% (7 out of 10) of the 100BMLA General Membership meetings

  • Contribute or raise at least $1,000 per year for the 100BMLA or its primary programs, Young Black Scholars (YBS) and See Your Future Mentoring (SYF)

  • Attend, at least, 50% of all 100BM/LA programs and events

  • Recruit 1 (one) prospective member each year

  • Agree to serve on an “event” team to represent the organization at a public function on, at least, 1 (one) occasion in a calendar year

  • Agree to sponsor or purchase no less than 2 seats at the 100BMLA’s major annual fundraiser
